Just received that 22nd Century Rock mag in the mail...pretty cool - kinda reminds me a bit of the old Music / Rock Express Magazines & Metallion Magazine that came out in Canada back during Triumph's heyday...
Anyway it kind of reminded me of how little press "T' actually received in the mainstream rock / metal mags in the 80's...
I remember quite a few articles...starting with a 1 page review of a R&R Machine Tour concert (in Philly I think) that 1st piqued my interest in the band...can't remember the mag...maybe CREEM...likely not....plus a number of articles in the usual...Circus, Hit Parader etc....
As a teenage fan of the band, it always kind of bugged me when I saw all these "hair" bands, that seemed to have very little of the substance, musicianship, intelligence etc etc of Triumph plastered all over the newstands...
It seemed they popped up a lot more during Never Surrender - in particular after the US Festival....I guess most of the scribes from those rags were there & they finally appeared on their radar
I still have a lot of the articles, but as far as actual magazine covers go I don't recall that many....Rik on Guitar Player 2 or 3 times, the guys on Canadian Musician a couple of times....I don't remember but I think there was 1 issue of Rock Express they were on, and a couple smaller US publications "Rock Lyrics" or something like that.
Anyone remember any others or have some good (rare?)articles...the clippings I've seen on some other threads (including a bunch of newspaper clippings) were great to see & read. It'd be great to have a cohesive collection of all these things on line.
