This is a rumor but it takes 9 months or so to plan a tour.........so

I'm fairly convinced we will see a tour next year. This would certainly make sense for Triumph, in all sorts of ways. We shall see...
A little follow up has provided...........
Triumph has contacted a few artists in their genre' , to generate some interest for a tour next year.
We all know if they want to play 6-10k seat theaters, they would need some additional support.
My thoughts would be Scorpions or Styx and or bands of that nature..........We will see.......
A tour with Styx would be interesting...they would blow them off the stage every night...
I like Styx music but I wouldn't put them in T's genre...
Scorps/Triumph would be a sweet one for sure, much more along the same type of music.
...and after much thought I've come to the conclusion that the Scorps would almost be the perfect tour. They came out close to the same time Triumph was getting going. Reached their height in the early 80s. Melodic metal type outfit...Rik I think is friends with Rudolph Schenker...I remember he mentioned seeing him at NAMM when he was there for the Dean V.
Styx vs Scorpions...........................no challenge and no option. The boys will headline Canada and the US.....The Scorps may settle for a double bill but tagging on Styx.......they have there own thing going.
The Scorps teamed up with Dokken and Whitesnake a few years past. I expect the next trip the are one or two at best........Humanity is a dahm good CD.
Lets wait and see...............we have waited eh!
Seems a little strange to me...given that the Scorps were WAY bigger than Triumph in terms of record sales, name recognition and ongoing radio airplay, I can't see how the Scorps would agree to be No. 2 on a bill with Triumph. And I certainly mean no offense to Triumph; they are after all my favorite band.
And we all know Triumph has never been No. 2 on a touring bill to anyone (not including festivals), so I can't see that the big reunion tour would have them opening for anyone.
So call me skeptical about this one. If it's a "co-headliner" thing, where they alternate nights on who plays first, and with equal set times, then MAYBE. But I say no way Scorps would go out as the opener with T.
You make some very good points, and I agree that I can't see them opening for the Scorps, and it would have to be a 'co-headliner' situation. Probably a tough pill for each band to swallow if its any other way and then it wouldnt happen.
Maybe a tour with their favorite tour buddy...YNGWIE! lol jk
I dont know how it'll go down but I just hope it does. Triumph is kind of in a weird spot musically, sort of a Van Halen deal where it's heavier than just melodic rock but not quite the hair metal thing. The scorps really are one of the only other bands that compare well with T.
I would see them on a tour with Dokken, which is really just the Don Dokken band now...But Dokken just came out with a new album I dont know plans of touring for other bands other than Triumph though.
I think Triumph would be the headliners on any tour option..........
They may say Hey Scorpions we will split the revenue as co-headliners but we ( Triumph ) will close the show.
The Scorpions have opened for a lot of people in the last 10-15 years that I have seen. Deep Purple, Motley Crue etc

Drew, I'm sure you're digging the idea though! You never got to see Triumph back in the day, and I remember you saying you saw the Scorps on their World Wide Live tour and it was "one of the best nights of your life". I think that quote is exact too haha, I dont know why that post you made from who knows when stuck in my head but it did.
As is scrolled through the notes i thought of April Wine.............cool, but the i remembered Thunder Seven.
Tour with Helix would be great. Brian has had his band out and about including the US...........they are more than ready for a full tour.
