    Re: BRET IS A JET

I think it's a good trade for the Jets, they needed something to rev up this team. I like Chad but since his injuries started he hasn't been they same. Clemens is not the future either.

    Hey thunderdawg:

Your Browns are getting all the publicity in the AFC North, This will be another fun year, Our division play a lot of tough teams, BRING IT ON!!!!

By the way the Steelers are in an ownership bind with 4 Rooney brothers mulling selling their shares to billionare Druckmiller. We can't have this happen. Steelers need to be owned by the Rooneys, Dan in particular. can't imagine Steelers majority owned by someone not named Rooney.

    I dont think Brett's going to make a 4-12 team a 13-3 team...even with their offseason pickups...

    we'll see though

my favorite Jets chant...J-E-T-S just end the season...lol

I don't think Brett will be an instant success in New York, but best of luck to him and the Jets this year. It sucks when your teams division sucks because it gives the naysayers something to say.

"Well your team was only good because your division sucks or is weak, and therefore that is six ALMOST guaranteed wins for them"

Brett is like the Emmitt Smith of QB's, only above average but did it for a very long time.  The years there wasnt much to work with in GB he struggled...just like any QB would.  I think he's a great player and he's made some plays due to being creative that I dont think any other players would have made.  But if you look at Brett's seasonal statistics he never had an incredible near record breaking year...dont think he ever finished a season with a 100+ QB rating.  I do hope he has success in NY but...I would be VERY surprised if he led them to a 13-3 season.

    Re: BRET IS A JET

I really don't think he can do it either (13-3) more likely 7-9 ( +3 for Jets)

I am hoping for a dislocated knee for Brady ( sorry Ashley, luv you but not the Pats)

maybe even a dual hospital visit for TB and Moss.....................would be good.

I really hope you don't mean that Hank, it is Just A Game. In fact one of the men I work with is from New York and the day after that 'Super Bowl'? I congratulated his team. What is even funnier is I was expecting him to rub it into my face, but he just looked at me and said, "You really believe they won or no?". I did not go into grave detail because everything I say, despite being fact, would have fallen onto deaf ears.

I know this thread is about Bret Farve and the Jets but since you brought up my team let's run with it, shall we?

Let's pretend that neither one of us likes or hates New England, and just simply play attention to the facts here, ok?

When Bill Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the Giants, Head Coach of the Browns and now with the Patriots, every single player has always enjoyed playing under him for one big reason: PREPERATION.

The comments that those players make usually consist of:

"He prepares us for every possible situation that can arise in any given game"

Now let's look at the Giants:

In 1990 the New York Giants were a little better than .500 team, at best. They were short on firepower and star players, with the exception of a few. The closest any team has ever come to a three peat would be the mighty San Francisco 49ers in 1990. They had won the 1988 and 1989 Super Bowls and were in the 1990 NFC Championship game. By all rights, statistics and players wise, the 49ers were light years better than the Giants. Bill Belichick had ONE WEEK to prepare a less-than-stellar Giants defense to stop the mighty 'destiny bound' 49ers. The Giants ended up winning that game on a last second field goal, 15-13. That scheme he drew up held the mighty 49ers offense, Joe Montana included, to one touchdown and a pultry 13 points.

Then in Super Bowl 25, Bill Belichick had only one week to prepare his less than stellar Giants defense against the greatest offense of the 1990's in the Buffalo Bills. We all know how that super bowl ended, Wide Right, nuff said.

Now Bill Belichick has a perfectly balanced well oiled machine in the Patriots, that makes both of the 1990 Giants opponents spoke of earlier look like second stringers. Bill Belichick, the greatest preperation coach of all time, is given twice as long to figure out a way to stop a Giants team that was worse than the one he was with 17 years ealier, and he is unable to do it? BULLSHIT

Think back to when you were in school and there was a cheater in your class. When that cheater was exposed for cheating, his grades, simply by default, decreased dramatically. The 2007 Patriots were accused of 'cheating', which by design should have punched them square in the mouth and left them dead as cold dirt in winter. But instead the Patriots go perfect, now here is the moment of truth:

Can you imagine how embarresed the NFL and comminssionor Roger Godell would have been if the cheating Patriots, turned around and went 19-0? It would have basically slapped the NFL right in the face and the integrity of America's greatest sport would have been questioned.

The multi-billion dollar corporation that is the NFL, does not want to be embarresed or made a liar out of. So what do they do? They do EVERY POSSIBLE THING IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE SURE THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

So in the end even though the Patriots will most likely go 14-2 and win Super Bowl 43. I will have next to no interest whatsoever, since the NFL have proven NOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is just as bogus as and FIXED as the WWE

    Re: BRET IS A JET

No, I do like you Ashley, your posts are well thought out...........This is a Farve post but..................it is a known fact that the best teams

in the NFL are hated. If Brady just happens to tweak a knee...... oops

I have a co-worker that I think really believes that the NFL is fixed, this a multi-billion dollar industry

*** happens in the NFL, teams will go through years of being good and then suck for 20 years, look at the 49ers.

Teams eventually figure other teams out and come up with a way to win. Didn't the Pats beat the Giants a

few weeks earlier by less than a TD, they(Giants)were only a few plays from winning that one.

The Giants deserve some credit and that any team can "win on any given Sunday".

How does a guy catch a lob in the middle of the field against his helmet ? How does Manning get out of that pocket w/o getting sacked ?

Did the NFL control that ? Was it destiny ?

No way the Super Bowl was fixed, come on. I would say the Giants don't scare me like the Patriots but on that day their defense was in Brady's face from the first play. They came through big time on that last possession, a little luck helps. They won fair and square.

    hrams:
Was Bill finally outcoached in a big game?
The chances of Bill being outcoached, outsmarted and outprepared in the big game by Tom Coughlin is as possible as Michael Jackson being a heterosexual.

    marcorocks:
No way the Super Bowl was fixed, come on. I would say the Giants don't scare me like the Patriots but on that day their defense was in Brady's face from the first play. They came through big time on that last possession, a little luck helps. They won fair and square.
No they were not, the Giants defense was liberated on the Patriots first and last offensive series. The Patriots made it look easy on both drives, and until it's exposed I will say the line waas weakened by the injuries sustained to Stephen Neal, which happened in the trenches. The place where not a lot of illegal activity is seen.

And by the way Hank, the chances of 'destiny' ever being possible, in the realm of human being, is as good as the Giants making it back to the Super Bowl. Face It everybody, the ONLY reason any of you wanted to see New England lose is because they were in their fourth super bowl of the last seven years and your teams continue to suck.

What is even sadder is the blatant lack of common sense, which is what just about all football is based on, since your willing to believe in the story fabricated by the NFL in hopes to regain interest in their league.

You know why the Arizona Cardinals or the Carolina Panthers or the Cincinatti Bengals were not exposed for cheating?  Because no one gives a *** about those teams, it's very simple:

How can we get these mighty Patriots down and regain the interest of our public? Ohhhh I know a way!

Let's just say they cheated and moronic people(95% of all Americans that is) is fucked in the head enough to believe it. Hurry up, put the rule in that says you are no longer allowed to do something that has been being done by every single professional sports team for the last thirty years or longer. Then let's make it look like the rule had been instated before that game.

Won't people catch on and figure it out though?

Dude, they Follow Their Heart, how smart can they be?
