    Cinderella cancels tour.......................

    CINDERELLA Cancels Summer Tour

Posted on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 21:48:59 EST

BW&BK has received the following notification:

"It's with unbelievably deep regret that I must announce that CINDERELLA's Tom Keifer's left vocal cord has hemorrhaged, thereby making it impossible for him to sing in the immediate future.

Tom felt his throat give way last night (June 11th) finishing the set in pre-production rehearsals, went to his vocal doctor (Dr. Stephen Mitchell) in Nashville this morning, and was told the grim news. In the short term, Tom's doctor told him it would be two to three weeks before the swelling and damage would recede to a point to where an assessment can be made as to whether surgery will be required.

Consequently, and again, most regretfully, we have no choice but to postpone the upcoming CINDERELLA tour until such time as Tom is ready tour again."

LYNCH MOB and WARRANT had been scheduled as opening acts. Ticket refunds will be available at point of purchase.

From what I understand Tom has had these throat problems b4

That sucks, I was really looking forward to seeing Warrant. The last time I saw Cinderella, Keifers voice was ***, he could barely sing.

That doesnt surprise me much, the way he sings cant be too easy on the voice...its almost painful for me to think about trying to sing like him.

I dont know how Sebastian Bach's voice has held up at all over the years, man did he just scream live!  Very aggressive singing style.  I think its pretty hard for most of the hair metal guys to sing as well as they used to, simply because that genre consisted of high screams and fairly aggressive styles of singing, and 20 years of that takes its toll!

Coverdale sounds pretty damn good on that new album though!

Also, it makes what Mike Reno sounded like when I saw Loverboy last summer all the more impressive, the guy could still hit all the notes!  I think Michael Sweet from Stryper, from seeing youtube clips, is still able to get up there pretty well.

Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong

Thats the nice thing about studio work. You dont have to hammer your voice all in one shot like at a concert. You can just work on little parts until theyre right. Then theres all kinds of wonderful tools to tweak a voice to perfection. Coverdale sure does have a great voice for rock, I still remember the first time I heard slow & easy, I was blown away. No comparison to his Deep Purple work imo.
