If you're in a band that's released an album....

... feel free to tell us about that album (including where we can listen to it) in this thread.

Re: If you're in a band that's released an album....

No one here has anything released on tape at all? hmmm.....

Well the closest I got was recording a demo (we actually had 3) with the last full time band I was with, it was all original and we definitely played a progressive style. Unfortunately my ex-girlfriend (and there is many good reasons why she's an EX) decided to take all that stuff when things were over, she did it to piss me off and it worked. I chased her for a year and a half to get those tapes back, but have never seen or heard them again. sad.gif It's a shame too because that whole demo was 100% original music we had, a lot of love went into it.

I tracked down our bass player a few years back and he was going to make me some copies, but I lost touch with him again, it's too bad because the last demo we made actually got us some attention from MCA. But we broke up not too long after because the singer's girlfriend was expecting their first child which turned out to be twins, and although we weren't happy he was leaving we understood, and they were estactic of the kids on the way so it was hard to stay mad. So they ended up getting married and moved out to Alberta about a two years after that because he got a good job working out in the oil fields.

I recorded and released 3 cds sofar, 2 studio and 1 live.

They're e.p. albums, wich means that they're no longer than 20 minutes long.

One cd i recorded with Turbid View called Blinded wich contains a mere 4 tracks.

One studio cd (called KoCo) containing 3 tracks and one live album containing 6 tracks with Propeller.

The studio album with Propeller we recorded at the Royal Conservatory in 3 days.
The studio album with Turbid View we recorded at The Basement in 4 or 5 days.
The Turbid View cd got a lot of airplay.

I'm not in any of these bands anymore.

    Hi Lindsay,

My band Shagg (hence the screen name) is sort of an amalgam of pop/rock, funk, soul, and jazz flavors. We've been compared to artists ranging from Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, and the Neville Brothers to Ben Harper, Dave Matthews, and Los Lobos.

Anyway, we just released our second CD, "Buh Ba Ba Ba." You can listen to clips at www.shagg.org or our MySpace page.

Re: If you're in a band that's released an album....

My band is called The Illustrated Band. Our singer/main songwriter is from Canada, I am from Seattle and the other members are from Texas. We have been compared to Sting, Rush, Yes, U-2, & Pink Floyed. I Guess we're some what of a prog thing, though not entirely unaccessable. I've done records and toured all over the world with different bands, and I have done some drum teching for Terry Bozzio and recently Jammed with Eric Johnson and Roscoe Beck. A side from The Illustrated band I'm a hired gun around Austin TX playing everything from blues to country to pop to funk..... I prefer to stay away from country - just for the record!

Define, "released." Our band just finished recording a CD. We are in the process of mixing and mastering it. We have posted semi-final mixes of three songs to our band's page at: www.myspace.com/teknontheou7
