    Re: Guitar Tabs & Chords

Yeah sheet music for Triumph is difficult to find. Luckily there are some nice long shots of Rik on the US festival dvd. I've learned a lot of his chord progressions from watching that dvd. His solos are very difficult but it's his chording that I find most challenging.

    Re: Guitar Tabs & Chords

    Hello,
Is it too late to have some of those .pdf scans sent? I am hoping for accurate tabs of Midsummer's Daydream and Little Boy Blues in particular. Two of my favorite virtuoso pieces. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Ordinary Man:
I have not seen too much Triumph stuff on the Net, I suspect that whoever has the rights to their music has some of it removed. There are a few tabs out there.

Sam I Am--I am a new member of this board but a 27-year fan of Rik and Triumph. I played guitar back in the early and mid 80's and have only recently began to pick it up again. I am trying to re-acquire some of the tablature books I had back then, especially Triumph stuff. I have discovered that the prevalence of Triumph guitar tablature on the Net is either sparse or not very accurate or complete. So I am turning to some fan websites to see what I can find out as far as getting hold of some more complete and accurate tabs.

I do still have the "Triumph Guitar Superstar Series" Super-tab by Dr. Licks which is pretty decent. I also used to have the Rik Emmett VHS tape but it broke on me probably 18 years ago and I honestly don't remember too much about what all was on it. Can you tell me how technical it is and is it good for a "almost intermediate" guitarist? Does Rik go slowly on how to play some songs or is he just blistering the fretboard as usual? If you feel like this may be appropriate for someone like myself, then I may start searching again(probably Ebay, of course) for this video tape.

Also, speaking of Ebay, I see where they have a "Best of Triumph" guitar tab book for auction--do you have this or have you seen this? I have a Boston tab book from the same publishers that is pretty good but I was just wondering more specifically about this Triumph book. Any feedback you have about this would be greatly appreciated.

I guess my most immediate need would be trying to find some accurate and complete tabs for "Hold On'--do you have access to just this song(as recorded on JUST A GAME) and if so, is it possible for you to email it to me at jclrascal@aol.com??

Let me know and any other recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated. If it is easier for you to leave me a voicemail versus typing out a long email, then I have a 24-hour toll-free voicemail at 1-866-844-7654. Thanks again!

    Respectfully,

    Re: Guitar Tabs & Chords

There is some decent guitar tab on ultimate-guitar.com. If you have downloaded Guitar Pro, the tabs are pretty accurate. There are accurate tabs of Fight The Good Fight (including solo), Midsummer's Daydream, and some of Rik's classical pieces (all for guitar pro).

Guitar Pro is fantastic. Too bad the record companies are fighting hard to shut down the tab sites.

    Lindsay:
    This is Triumph the Book:

    IPB Image

I do have the whole thing scanned, in PDFs, and some day it will all go up on the site, just not right away as I'm not exactly sure yet how I'm going to present it online (the quality of the scans varies so I can't just put up the PDFs. I'm going to have to retype most of the text and insert the pictures where appropriate).

just curious...now that Lindsay isnt here anymore sad.gif is this still going to end up on the site someday?
Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong

    Re: Guitar Tabs & Chords

I wanted to move this thread from last year back to the top to see if anyone has any updated Triumph tabs?  I am hoping since the activity with/behind the band("R" word) is now heating up that there will be more long-time Rik Emmett fans/guitarists that can provide some access to updated and accurate tabs.

I know there are a few on the Net but they seem to be for the same handful of songs--in particular, I am looking for a complete song tab for "Hold On", "Ordinary Man", "Never Surrender" and "Allied Forces".

Can anyone help me with this?

    FTGFight,

    Jack the Rascal

    Re: Guitar Tabs & Chords

Don't know if it will help but this is the first few bars of Little Boy Blues, I have it tabbed out somewhere, the way I play it anyway, I tried to upload that and Street Fighter Man completely to Ultimate-Guitar but they are moving like molasses in terms of approving tabs, so....

Here is the Street Fighter Man tab I posted on Ultimate Guitar, click here for it. I am still finishing Little Boy Blues. Once done, that and the rest of the City song, will be uploaded as well

    Re: Guitar Tabs & Chords

I just submitted the guitar pro tab for Prologue: Into the Forever to ultimate-guitar.com. And I also just tabbed out the solo's for All The Way and Time Goes By, so I just have to put those into guitar pro and then i will submit those too.
