Re: Rocklahoma.. Who is going Part II

I'm so anxious, i've already started to pack !!!!   This saturday i'm having a "Rocklahoma" warm-up party !!!  Only 2 guests invited !!!  I want to get the other 2 guys ready for the festival.  They don't know most of the bands playing, so i'll have to get my tapes out and we will have a fun evening of tapes and Miller Lite !!!

Re: Rocklahoma.. Who is going Part II

OK, looks like I'll be able to make Rocklahoma, or at least the last 3-4 acts on Friday! I can't hit the road (about a 7-8 hour drive for me from central IL) until about 11 am on Friday, but that should get me there in time for hopefully Living Colour and definitely for Night Ranger.

They've moved Lita Ford to Saturday night to round out that night after Cinderella had to cancel, so the Friday acts have been pushed back a little. Living Colour is scheduled to come on at 5:55 pm, then Night Ranger at 7:35 and then Extreme at 9:15...Triumph at 11 pm.

I'm just gonna get a GA ticket and sit on the grass, unless I can come up with a "Friday only" VIP thing at a reasonable cost. My promoter buddy is trying to hook me up, but doesn't have a lot of Rocklahoma contacts.

The wife is gonna go with me. :-) Says she needs to see what all the fuss is about. I heard the tail end of Mike's interview on XM with Eddie Trunk yesterday, and he said the boys will be "significantly" adding on to the standard light/effects set up provided by Rocklahoma...looks like we'll get a few of the old Triumph gadgets at the show!

    oc12,

We are planning to drive up from Dallas on Friday night for Night Ranger and Triumph.  Then come back on Sunday for Zebra.  I have GA for Friday and will be working for Zebra on Sunday.

Hope to see some of you guys there!

Re: Rocklahoma.. Who is going Part II

    hey guys,

looks like we are BOOKED, SECTION L , seats 8-10 ( but heck Dave, what ROW??- i'm hoping row 6 or 7 maybe better !), but what the heck is the difference

between regular and vip camping?  looks like the camping is almost sold out - cross your fingers for us to get it booked first thing Friday morning!

that site isn't too user friendly for all this info!

     - it would be great to try to meet up with some of the fellow posters here, but how in hell do we

do that ?  if only we knew of a major landmark NOW then we could say to meet there at a certain time

if possible on Friday before the Triumph slot.( i just read about maybe meeting up at someone's campsite- that would work prob the best !)

    any ideas?

Re: Rocklahoma.. Who is going Part II

We could all meet while LIVING COLOUR are playing...   I don't know about anybody else here, but i don't plan to waste time watching them...  The rest of friday is pretty awesome, it will be hard to get everybody at a campsite to meet...  From 13h00, there's XYZ, ARMORED SAINT, KINGDOM COME, NIGHT RANGER, and EXTREME that are all worth seeing...  But if someone plans a place to meet, i'll definitely try to make it.

You're right, never seen them...  Not really interested, but who knows, maybe they'll surprise me...

I guess if we meet by the t-shirt booth, we can still hear them play...right ?  But we definitely have to be back in our seats for NIGHT RANGER !!!

So i like the idea of 18h00 at the t-shirt booth.

I saw them and was shocked by how good they were, but that was along time ago. Kingdom Come was a disappointment.

Enjoy the show folks, I hope you guys all hook up and get some kodak moments. Im jealous

Kingdom Clone? haha, I'd much prefer Living Colour to them, Vernon Reid is a beast on guitar.  Not sure what Corey Glover sounds like after all these years, but I liked the sound on the albums.

Re: Rocklahoma.. Who is going Part II

ok so 6pm at the tshirt booth, that works for us

ds72, hope you don't mind, but after i read your post about your t-shirts, i suggested the same

idea to Mark (cuz he made a shirt for himself for another occasion) and we are having shirts

made as well!  (more for our own enjoyment and memories) but we will be easy to spot as well

on Friday for all the other T fans.... thanks for sharing what you did!

What day are you guys heading back to Ottawa ?

Re: Rocklahoma.. Who is going Part II

Well, I'm most likely -not- going now. Wah!!!

Chalk it up to both work related stuff and my girl friend going through a bit of a hard time, right now. There's still a small chance, but it's unlikely.

I'll be there in spirit, in any case and will look forward to reports, pics, video, etc.

So i'm happy were not the only "weirdos" that got shirts made !!!!  Just look out for 3 french guys with white T's !!!!  We are leaving wednesday morning at 6h15 am.  We'll be on the campground around 18h00.  Just enough time to set-up tent and be at the show for 20h00 !  We're flying back to Ottawa monday afternoon.  Should be an interesting weekend of 80's metal !!!!!

Re: Rocklahoma.. Who is going Part II

I'm kind of hoping we could meet up between Night Ranger and Extreme, during that break...should be 45 minutes to an hour break around 8:30ish or a bit after.

I'm definitely planning on watching Living Colour; Vernon's a monster player. Ben is right, as usual. :-) And, I'll probably just be getting to the festival at 6 pm...the wife decided she wanted to fly instead of drive, so we get into Tulsa a little after 4 and then by the time we pick up rental car, drop bags off at hotel and drive to Pryor, it's gonna be about 6 pm.

But if 6 works for everybody else, I'll try to swing by if all the timing works out. If not, if I see any of the above mentioned T-shirts and such, I'll be sure to say hello.
