Re: basesball who do you like

Was an Expos fan since I was about eight until they moved, so I guess I'm a Blue Jays fans by default, although I don't mind the Yankees because of their tradition.

My favourite NL is the Chicago Cubs, but I wouldn't mind if either the Reds, Pirates or Brewers did well. Don't like NL East or West teams very much.

I don't root passionately for any team now. I don't watch much baseball these days either, follow it somewhat, but not like I used to.

When I was in my single digits age wise I was a Pittsburgh Pirates fan. I still have a heart for them. But the only time I ever switched teams in any sport was when I started to root for the Phillies ( 1973). My favorite player at the time was Dave Cash who was from my hometown. Then he went free agent to the Expos, but I stayed a Phillies fan. I'm so very proud...uh embarrased  to have a single World Series championship 1980. Thank God for the  Mike Schmidt, Larry Bowa, Greg Luzinski, Pete Rose, Garry Maddox, Tug McGraw and  Steve Carlton years. This franchise has been around forever and the freakin Marlins have more World Series titles.

I like my Orioles. I was at Camden Yards on Sunday for this very well-played (on both sides) game:

George Foster comes to mind as a big waste of $ for the Mets.... Beltran is also not worth the money they paid him...It seems that in any big game he always goes down on strikes looking....

I grew up a KC Royals fan and still have a bit of a soft spot for them.  Even though I'm not a big baseball guy.  Chordguy, are you from MD?  I live in PA but work in Baltimore.

Re: basesball who do you like

I guess the Yanks & Mets. The Yanks are flat right now and I dont think they have it this year, to many weak bats and big holes in Left (not Matsui) and Center. As for the Mets thats a different story.

So glad the Muts didnt sign Baked Zito !!!!!!!!!

Baseball is not the same anymore...The 70's now that was baseball......
