I thought this might be a cool topic to start on here as it was started on facebook. I'm sure there are probably many concerts you wish you could have attended, but you missed out either because you're too young and weren't born yet or for some other reason. Being only 20 years old theres tons of concerts I wish I had been around to see. The top ones would be:Triumph 1977 Rock And Roll Machine TourDeep Purple, 1972 Machine Head Tour Iron Maiden, 1980 with original singer Paul DiannoBlack Sabbath, 1974 Paranoid TourAC/DC with Bon Scott - any concertJimi Hendrix - any concertHeart 1975 - Dreamboat Annie tour.Queen - any concert with Freddy Mercury, preferrably one of their first concerts.
Also my parents had tickets for us to see Kiss in Toronto, during their 1996 original band reunion tour. Unfortunately we had to sell them because we were moving and we couldn't go. Still bugs me til this day, since we only moved there for 2 years anyways.

Good topic !
I wish I was at Woodstock just to say I was there. LOL I did go to the SARS concert in Toronto. To see almost 1/2 a million people at one venue was really something else ! AC/DC Rocked the joint ! We left right after they were done. Not a big Stones fan so I didn't really care to see them.
Wish I would have seen Pink Floyd with Waters. I highly recommend the live 2 disc DVD "Pulse" It's without Waters but it is still an amazing show. Sorry Triumph but PF put on a light show that was 2nd. to no-one. IMO.
My very first concert would have been Queen at the Aud. but they cancelled due to Freddie Mercury having a throat infection. So it was KISS at the Aud. (KISS Alive tour) the same summer. I think it was 1975 or 76 ? Awesome !!
Saw Robert Plant with SRV at Maple Leaf Gardens. Glad I got to see SRV before he died.
Wish I would have seen Led Zeppelin. They played the Aud (Kitchener I'm referring to) and they were backed up by a local band called Copper Penny. That was back in 69 or 70. I was only 7 so I doubt my parents would have let me go anyway. ha

Cool, I went to the SARS concert with my parents .I agree, AC/DC was the best by far. We only stuck around for a few of the Stones songs, because we didn't wanna get stuck leaving with all those people. Funny when Justin Timberlake had waterbottles thrown at him.
Why didn't you say hi to me ? LOL Was it hot enough for ya ?
Do you have the SARS DVD ? You can see the water bottles zippin' past JT and then you see Keith Richards get all pissed off at the perpetrators. I personally think throwing anything at a concert is unacceptable. OK, so they may not have liked JT but GROW UP people ! The concert was for a good cause. What if someone was hurt ?
I feel like throwing up every time I watch the part of JT singing Miss You with the Stones.

I would've said hi to you, but I couldn't find you in between the other half a million people, lol. I have the DVD, but it's too bad its not the whole concert and just a couple of songs from each band. Oh well atleast I can say I was there, even though I was looking at a big screen because I couldn't see the stage, lol. Did you have a good spot?? Hard to get a good spot since their were crazy people camping out days before. I agree, JT totally butchered the song. One band that really surprised me that I thought was great was the Isley Brothers. Their guitarist did some pretty cool bluesy solo's.
Skynyrd (w/ Ronnie & Steve)
Blackfoot (any pre-85 tour)
Rainbow (ANY or all lineups)
AC/DC (w/ Bon)

Woulda, shoulda, coulda. You're only 20, you have a good excuse. I have NO excuse. [:'(]
I've have seen most of these of their current incarnations. A couple I missed back then I did get to see last summer with the proper lineups.......
Asia
Sabbath (w/ Dio)
I was there with my girlfriend. She's on the DVD. She's the one that goes top-less during the AC/DC portion.
I WISH !!! LOL (please don't tell my fiance') ;-)
Nah, we were waaaay back there as well. It was nutz trying to go to the can or get food or water. I think they probably could have done a better job in that respect.
The Isley Bros. were the first act to actualy get the crowd going. They were good and the guitar player was pretty good too but a little bit "too over the top" I feel. I think he tried a little too hard to be Mr. Show-stopper with the behind the back playing etc. and what was with the rose ? A bit too goofy for me. I enjoyed the Tea Party, Guess Who, Rush. Sass with Jeff Healey etc. The Flaming Lips were quite funny to watch. Over-all it was a fun day.
Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread.
I wish I would have seen Deep Purple with Ritchie.

I'll only tell your fiancee if I see her, which I highly doubt, lol. The rose was a little weird ya but I still think they were great. As for the Flaming Lips, that was just weird and their singer I thought was terrible. Still, it was a great day. Well atleast we'll get to see Triumph, once and for all... don't know if you've ever seen them. I know it would be the best concert I ever saw.

Luvers666: Drew:Pink Floyd prior to "the wall"Me too, did you see them on their final two tours? Drew:Aldo NovaYou mean he actually toured? I would love to see him play too.
Nah i never got to see them. I was burned out on PF after the wall came out. It took me a long time and a listen to Animals to bring me back around.
Aldo Nova opened for Kiss here in New Haven, Unfortunately i didnt know it until I heard him in an interview at the local radio station and I had to work.
1. The 1983 US Festival, would love to have seen Triumph there... luckily I have it immortalized on DVD.
2. Woodstock, just to say I was there.
3. I'd like to see Rush live, and Zeppelin. I had a chance to see the Stones in 2006, had a ticket in my lap, but backed out because at the time there would have been a lot of hassle involved. I'm picky about going through a lot of stuff to see a band; I like Aerosmith's music a lot, & could have went to a concert last summer but didn't really want to. Too much money/inconvenience/ etc. to travel even 2 hours to see them.
To 'rollinrockmachine' who mentioned Led Zeppelin in Kitchener: I know a guy who was at that show, he showed me a newspaper clipping of the concert (or maybe it was a retrospective article in the Kitchener paper a few years ago??). He grew up in that area and is about 53 years old.
I saw him warm-up for Hagar in April 1982.
