    Howdy from Dallas,Texas

I live around Dallas,Texas and have been a fan of Triumph since the Import of Rock and Roll Machine.Have seen the band like 6 times since 79 and up to the Sport of Kings Tour and have always looked forward to them getting back to the business of playing there brand of Rock and Roll again Live.

IMO with the band finally getting back in touch and working on becoming friends again and deciding to go back out on the road again is the biggest music event I have seen, and can't wait to hear and see them again.

Welcome RockUFOrever1, nice name, seems based on the group UFO, if so you like them?

Nice to see someone who's been a fan as long as I have. Is the Import of RnRM how you discovered the band?

    Re: Howdy from Dallas,Texas

    Thanks for the Welcome.

To answer your ? about the name, yes I am a fan of UFO,but the name also helps incorporate some other bands also in different ways. The song Rock Forever by Priest, the song Forever by Y&T and also just lke the name states.I could Rock U Forever with all the Music and memorabilia I have collected over the years.I have also taken pics of bands at concerts over the past 7 years when possible. You can find some of my pics on the link in my profile.I have many more than what's on my site though.here is the link if ya wanna check some Live pictures out I took.  http://rockuforever.dotphoto.com/CPListAlbums.asp

On the RnR Machine album,I first heard them at a friends house, not soon after that,my brother started working at a record warehouse that distributed music and promos to stores. My brother brought the US release of the RnR Machine album home along with other stuff and the rest is history.

I wish I could say I still had all the promo posters I got from my brother but over the years most of them dissapeared.I had a promo poster that came with the RnR Machine but it was one that I don't have any more.I do still have my Just a Game Promo poster.

I have everything on vinyl, but I am missing some of the special release like the silver RnR Machine album.

Any show around Dallas that I can get too,I plan on making.

If they play Rocklahoma I may very well go to that, and I can't stand long outdoor shows anymore. After all the Texas Jams over the years,I got burned out on all day events.A 3 or 4 day event for me is pushing the limits. The toughest part would be finding someone to go with me to hang out all that time.I can't think of one of my friends that could get away for that long.

    Peace

    Russ

Well Russ I seen the Priest connection immediately as they are my all-time favorite band, however I never found that particular song with any interest, although I love the rest of the Killing Machine album. UFO is great, have all their originals on vinyl. RnRM, especially the US release with the pseudo-pentagram snaked around a super-imposed guitar et al, since it is how I discovered the band.

I went to a record store with my older brother, was just looking through the vinyls when I seen that described album cover. I knew it had to be great because the cover was so captivating. Took it home, listened to side 2 first by mistake, 24 Hours A Day and I was hooked forever. Had I not gone to the record store that day I may not have discovered the band and life would be different due to it was The Blinding Light Show and the title track that made me want to play Metal on the guitar.

But welcome again to the board.

Rock Bottom!!  Lights Out too...good stuff

Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong

No Place to Run, Flying, UFO 1, Force It, No Heavy Petting, Lights Out, Obsession, Phenomenon are ALL great albums. Their Walk On Water album was great too. Strangers In The Night, the live album, was their absolute best, at least the 1979 version I have. Versions of Rock Bottom, Doctor Doctor, Shoot Shoot, I'm A Loser, Love to Love are all amazing, shows what a great live band they were.

I'm a big fan of "The Wild the willng and the innocent" a well.  I also really liked the first album they did with Vinnie Moore playing, called "You are Here".  I have an awesome bootleg from "The record plant" in 1975.  Schenker was so young and raw.  It's a shame he has become such an enigma!

    Re: Howdy from Dallas,Texas

I will be seeing UFO on the 23rd this month at the HOB here in Dallas.Have not seen them since the 95 WOW tour.No Pete this tour, but oh well.

Obsessions and Lights Out,No Heavy Pettin' and Force It and Phenomenon along with Strangers are all great albums but most of the others are right up there with them.I like the Chapman years also, they went a little more keyboard on some songs but still released some excellent tunes.Never got into the Atomic Tommy era(?) tunes they released though and the early spacy material before Michael was really out there also.
