Sad about Jones, he'd just started to turn his life around. Saw the end of the game last night marco, sloppy game but you got the 'W'.

My Browns are keeping things interesting though... I find it hard to believe we're 7-4 after four years of sucking..

    Steelers vs. Pats  this Sunday

Hope the Steelers beat the tar out of the Pats. Our stupid "new" safety Anthony Smith guarantees a win. What a stupid thing to say...

Re: how's your football team doing

Yes, I do too. The Patriots have had our number for a while. It's time to change this pattern now. But you know what, this game matters to the Steelers in that they can find out what may or may not work against the Patriots. Should they meet again in the playoffs obviously that will be the game that "matters". If they lose on Sunday, I'll be mad if they lose ground on the Colts or let the Browns back in it a bit. But I remember 2 years ago when they lost to the Colts on Monday night. They ended up playing them in the playoffs at Indy and won because they figured out how to beat them. I feel the same way about beating the Patriots.

Anthony Smith is a very brash guy who doesn't need to open his mouth. I'm sure he can back it up on the field though.

Re: how's your football team doing

When the Patriots have completely humiliated the Shittsburgh Squealers for opening their disgusting mouths and trying to turn the attention off their own wrong doing and was one of the three teams to speak out about the 'spying'. The other two teams were both humiliated, coincidently by the same exact score in subsequent weeks, so I except a 38-14 victory. But if I was New England I'd score every second I had the ball, deliberately run the score up to 75 if I could and I know the Patriots are more than capable of doing that.

Plus when the pansy ass Steelers are watching from the 50 yard line at the Super Bowl at Bill and Tom hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, they will realize how stupid they were for revealing their stupidity and given the team all the more reason to embarrass every one who gets in their way.

And how dare anyone compare the Patriots to despicable Colts? The Steelers beat the Colts, which I was thrilled at by the way, because the Colts is/was/and always will be a sorry sissy team who plays in a dome and has the most classless and tasteless quarterback.

Re: how's your football team doing

It must be freezing in hell, becasue a Browns fan is ready to back the Steelers.

     1. Smith shouldn't have opened his mouth like that. You can bet his teammates have already told him to STFU.

     2. Calling them the Shittsburg Squealers is not very classy, dude.

    3. The Steelers, with the #1 ranked defence and a good running game, are very capable of beating the Patriots, and don't think they aren't. Christ, the Ravens almost did - should have, in fact.

    4. Until the Pats win the Supr Bowl, they haven't won anything this year. Any given Sunday.

    5. The Colts, a "sorry, sissy team" are the defending champions, and don't think they can't beat the Patriots either. Manning can beat anyone, any time, anywhere....

    6. No one whines more than Prett boy Tom Brady, and a lot of teams have said they believe the Patriots get more than their fair share of ref calls.

     7. If the Pats do win another Super Bowl, they will tie the Browns with four NFL titles. And still be one behind the Steelers. The Steelers are a Browns rival but I respect the hell out of them.

    8. And yes, it's already been proven the Patriots cheated. Case closed... and to add, Belichick is a greaseball, he proved it when he coached the Browns.

Re: how's your football team doing

I like the Pats...but I'm not gonna make a big deal out of this, I'm not that hardcore into NFL stuff that I take it personally...so name calling is a little over the top for me...actually it always is-just really does a bad job of relaying the point, seems very 10th grade to me, but yet it seems nearly everyone does it online

Any given Sunday is right...whatever happens happens, and I'm not jumping on the Pats bandwagon, ever since they had that run to win their first superbowl I've been a fan

I dont like Pitt...but whatever, its just football, there are no real teams that I hate with a passion or anything, I just like to see the Bears lose so I can rub it in to some Bear fans at school! haha

At first I was not going to bother responding to this, but I guess I will.

By the way DO NOT call me a dude, I am not a guy and if you were not referring it to 'male' than I am not a 'hair on a goats ass' either.

The ONLY reason the Steelers have the #1 ranked defense is because they have faced a much softer schedule than the #2 ranked defense has, which would be the Buccaneers. Put them against the Patriots offense and they will no doubt be exposed.

The only reason the Ravens 'almost' won is because it is a different part of the season. Fact is the Ravens are out of contention, were playing at home, had nothing to lose and would want nothing more than the natural publicity and honor that comes along with beating the only unbeaten team in the league. All teams are taking this approach, with only the Giants having anything important at stake, but then again by that point that could change. So the talent of the individual team is not as important as what you crack it up to be, I've seen 5-8 teams defeat 11-2 teams so it all depends.

And yes The Colts are a sorry, sissy team. They play finesse football, play it on turf and worst of all, do so in a dome. Peyton Maggot is not worthy of my energy wasted on this response, any person that backs him is just as much a loser, just like his sorry excuse of a father. Peyton Maggot is a 'okay' quarterback at best, whom has ALWAYS had an excellent set of receivers and offense line around him. Tom Brady lost his #1 and #2 receivers and still led the league in passing and made the 'okay at best' receivers look like superstars.

Calling Tom Brady a 'whiner' puts a huge damper on any statement you'd make as you obviously must be living in a some other time, maybe like the Sliders show. Of course people are going to say that, because they are imbeciles, just like it was a fumble when he clearly had not tucked the ball. Or...

"Any team, any game, any season" is one of the leagues oldest and biggest cliches, but the Patriots have been winning and winning and winning and winning and winning and winning and winning... so people dislike it. For all of us true to heart Patriots fans there is three to everyone of us who want to see the Patriots fall, it's the price one pays for being at the top.

Now I do not have a problem with that but I do have a problem with people rebutting the obvious truth with claims like: "8. And yes, it's already been proven the Patriots cheated. Case closed... and to add, Belichick is a greaseball, he proved it when he coached the Browns."

It has NEVER EVER been proven the Patriots cheated and the reason they still deny it is one simple reason: IT WAS NOT UNTIL THIS EVENT THAT IT BECAME ILLEGAL, NEVER BEFORE SEPTEMBER 9TH 2007 WAS IT. It only became a rule after that and it's not something only the Patriots have done. EVERY SINGLE TEAM HAS DONE THIS AND WORSE.

IN 2002 JON GRUDEN LINED UP IN PRACTICE AND PRETENDED TO BE RICH GANNON WHILE THE BUCS OFFENSE PREPARED AGAINST IT'S FIRST STRING DEFENSE. WANT TO KNOW THE BEST PART? NFL FILMS FILMED IT, MADE A MOVIE ABOUT IT, DISTRIBUTED THROUGH THE WORLD. THAT IS CHEATING IDIOT. EVERY TEAM DOES IT AND IT WAS 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' 'NOT' ILLEGAL UNTIL SEPTEMBER 9TH.

Calling Bill Belichick a 'greaseball' reveals blatant ignorance. Because the man talks like he has no pulse? Because he is ALWAYS saying something nice about the other team? Because he never said more than three words in press conferences while in Cleveland? Because he traded Bernie Kosar after benching him in favor of Vinny Testerverde?

I don't know, I am done with this... Believe what you want, the stupidity will obviously continue to shine through....

Re: how's your football team doing

Alrighty, not being much of a fan of football I havent peeked in here much. It looks like this thread is going bad quick. I dont mind a little spirited debate and will usually let stuff work itself out but I dont see this happening here anytime soon. Your all nice folks and key members here and to see something this silly getting you all fired up and possibly create hard feelings is just wrong . This can be counter prductive to the entire board. I like to tell folks this board isnt like those others where every thread turns to a battle and name calling. So please tone it down or the topic will get locked. Also its not mandatory but It would be really cool if you folks would do me a favor and go back and clean up your posts a little. This really isnt the face we would like to show the world.

    Thanks

    Drew

Re: how's your football team doing

No name calling from me, drew, but I must respond to Tom's Brady's mother. hahaha. I'm just talking football, I take nothing here personal.  Even when called an "idiot".

    luvers....

     1. Sorry I called you a dude. I shouldn't have assumed you were a guy.

    2. The Pats have had a fairly soft sked, too, or did you forget they play in a division with the Bills, Dolphins and Jets?....but 12-0 is a record that can't be argued with.

    3. The Ravens, who's O-line is old, exposed the Patriots to some degree... they can be run on, right up the gut... it would not surprise if NE beasily beat the Steelers, but it also wouldn't be a shock if Pitt ran it down NE's throats.

    4. Peyton is more than "okay"... he does have good receivers, but he's also smart, great arm and (this always gets overlooked) a quick release. And I would argue the Pats' O-line is just as good as Indy's.

     5. What Gruden did was nothing... working with the scout team in practices, exploring the other team's tendencies. Every team does it.

     6. Maybe Belichick isn't a greaseball - that was probably over the top. It's just the fans in Cleveland hated him, not only because he cut Kosar, but because he wasn't very friendly to the fans, at all. Although he has enough personality to entice a married woman into an affair.... come to think of it, that's kind of greasy, isn't it?

     7. Oh, and if the Pats didn't break any rules (which they did), why did they pay such a huge fine, get dinged for draft picks and not say a word about it, other than they wanted to "move on"? And Brady is always whining to the officials, BTW. Always.

    Have a nice day.

Re: how's your football team doing

I'm not so sure I'd say Peyton has a great arm, but you definatly hit the most important point about him-the quick release, thats what allows him to hit guys as they're coming open, once he sees it the ball is out which is a big advantage, but it has shown that he is not nearly as effective if he's not surrounded by talent like he has been most of his career...Brady had some very good seasons without a great great reciever, and Manning has two, plus Dallas Clark

I guess that arguement works the other way too...Lions aren't so great but they have a very good group of recievers but only an average quarterback in Kitna to throw them the ball...

Go Pack...ha, by the way...did they get screwed by the refs against Dallas or what? jeez, Al Harris takes that ball away from TO and the ref said his forward progress was stopped??? He never attempted to wrap him up he just grabbed the ball out of his hands, one ref made the right call and the guy who couldnt see what was going on made the wrong one...then there was the pass interference at the end of the game where they said was pretty cheesy too...oh well they still played a decent enough game to hang in there, Brett was in chuck and duck mode while he was in, Rodgers was an improvement for that particular game
