I agree, I was having doubts about Brett last year too, but the end of the season made me believe again, when he doesnt feel like he needs to carry the team he is a much better player...I love watching him play too-he has so much fun. Pats=amazing...Tom Brady never even sweats! lol

Tom Brady doesn't even have to shower after the game, he is seldom even hurried.


I am happy for Brett Farve, he is a classy individual who has had a wonderful and long career, which deserves to end on a high note. And if this is indeed his last year, for whatever reason, it would end on a strong high note, but it would be because he was there. Sometimes in these situations a great but in decline quarterback due to age gets surrounded by excellent talent, but that is not the case here. Brett Farve has been making his offense look better, I am not saying they are bad, by no means they deserve to be 9-1 but I do not think they'd be that without Brett. Maybe they'd be 9-1 or even 10-0 or they could be 1-9 or 0-10 with any other, so...

 

I would think Brady would still take a shower, I do wonder if karma will come back and haunt the Pats.

They have been running up the scores since" belacheat" was caught. I guess it remains to be seen.

I cant see anybody beating them except themselves, which they havent even come close to have anybody even challenge them.

No offense to you Hank, but I think anyone who buys into the whole 'cheating' thing is just as bad as the others. What they were doing was NEVER illegal and the only reason it became a headline is because it was the Patriots.

By the way, as far as the running up the score goes, it is NOT the offenses job to stop themselves but the oppositions defense. If you were in a fight with someone you would not knock them down, stop and wait for them to get back up and regain composure.

Just because you are up 34-10 and you have fourth and goal at the three yard line, does not mean you should kick a field goal, THAT is actually running up the score. The chances of missing a chip shot field goal are 7 out of a million, where as being stopped on fourth and goal are much better.

Some people are just stupid and don't want to see a team of classy respectful individuals be great, instead a bunch of egotistical faceless "the blame is everyone else's" assholes to succeed.

But the using of video equipment to film other teams signals is a violation of NFL rules. The Patriots were actually let off the hook because the NFL viewed and destroyed all evidence.

If a NFL team is up lets say 34-10 with less than 2 minutes to go and its 4 and 3 goal to go, the other team is  not going to come back and score 3td's and a FG to tie. The traditional "respectful" thing to do would be take a knee regardless if your giving up the ball or not. That team is not going to score that many points to come back, if it was earlier in the game kick the FG.

To refer the NE Pats and classy and respectful, only a patriots fan IMO would refer to them as that.

I am not saying the Patriots are not a great football team, I cant see anybody beating them.

But it remains to be seen if Karma can beat the Pats.

Funny story. Yesterday I stopped by my cousins and everyone was eating. So I was watching the tv while I waited for them to finish. They had some football on which my cousin knows Im not a fan. She shouts over "Hey you can change the channel if you want" So I did. About 15 minutes later their young son came over and asked If I was watching Tv and could he change the channel. Naturally I agreed. So he puts the game back on. What I didnt know cuz my back was to everyone. Every guy in the room stopped chewing and froze when my cousin said I could change the channel. Their stares turned to horror when I switched to "how its made" Apparantly it took them 15 minutes to convince the smallest male to approach me. My girl watched the whole thing unfold while I was oblivious.

the whole cheating thing doesnt even make sense, the Pats have played better after that whole thing.  It obviously had very little if any impact on the game because they've scored more points since then.  As far as running the score up...uh its professional football-guys on each team are getting paid millions to do their jobs, run it up as far as you want, if they can't stop you then thats their problem.  If it was say highschool where everyone playing isn't paid then be classy.  Its like in baseball, to teams purposly strike out when they get a big lead? I dont think so! they keeps swinging away and having good at bats.  Same thing here, its not the offenses job to NOT score.  I dont know I would say the Pats are a classy team, but they dont have any big shots running their mouths about how good they are, or anyone getting off field fines for doing stupid things.  I dont recall any of them being in jail for anything this year.  So I would have to say in that regaurd they are classy, but when it comes to playing the game they do everything they can to win.  Also...Hank when you think about it and you're getting smoked by a team, if you were on defense and they took a knee on 4th and 2 by the goal line what would you think? oh gee thats nice of them or man that wasnt classy at all, we're playing as hard as we can and they're showing us up by acting like they need to hand us something in order to prevent a score.  I think if I had some pride and I played defense I would rather have the team keep trying than rubbing it in my face that they can score at will but they wont even try because the game is out of hand.  Taking a knee IMO would be showing the other team up-and worse than scoring the TD.

Ben, you mentioned baseball.

What happens when your team is up 7-1 in the eighth inning and you continue to fabricate runs. IE steal a base ? or ya pop a 3 run homerun, because like you mentioned batters dont quit hitting.

You get a big fat fastball grazing by your head.

There are unwritten rules in baseball as well as football, what comes around goes around. No MLB players dont try to strike out with a big lead, but the game is played differently with a lead. When a basketball team is up by some 20 points(or whatever lead in the 4th qtr)  the stars come out of the game or do they run it up to 40 ? I think IMO if a team is getting thier ASS handed to them 34-10 lets say, the team for the most wants to get the hell out of there(offense and defense) they dont continue to play hard(for the most part, there are exceptions)

I could care less if the Patriots run up the score and if you want to talk about a piece of *** player look at Randy Moss(he has shut his mouth this year) but his MO is a me,me or me only player, very similar to Terrell Owens.

As far as the cheating goes. How many years have they been doing that or similar tactics ? Did they get caught the first time ? no. What else do they do illegal ?

And the Patriots are very full of classy players as well as their coach. They should not have been fined a single thing since what they were doing WAS NOT ILLEGAL AT THE TIME. Unsportsmanlike? NO. Unprofessional? NO. What should be legal? YES.

Every team does it, has for the past 100 years, they are still doing it now.

I really didnt like Moss at all when he was with the Vikings, he ran his mouth and got into all kinds of trouble.  I'm not talking about who the players used to be, I'm talking about the present team.  Has anyone on that team said that this is all about them, or that they're the greatest?  I haven't heard anything about that yet.  As for baseball, I saw plenty of "safe leads" slip away from the Brewers last year, you can never have enough runs.  Guys might not steal bases, but I can gaurantee that if a guy hits a double with a runner on first that runner isnt going to be tanking it around the bases so he doesnt score to keep from running it up.  They will almost ALWAYS try to score a guy on a base hit when he's on second depending on how fast he is and where the ball was hit etc.  Which I see as the same as the Pats going for it on 4th and 2.  They aren't stopping that runner when he would surely score from second, they're sending him home.  I know that every interview I saw with a player about the Pats getting caught, when asked if they thought other teams did it they said...well the Pats were the team that got caught.  These interviews weren't with Pats players either, I know one was with Michael Strahan and he really had no problem with it.  Every team in the NFL does it, they will always be trying to bend the rules a little further and a little further to see what kind of edge they can gain.  If the Pats started losing after they got caught then I would feel like they weren't a legit team.  But they've been winning and playing better since it happened, which IMO legitimizes what they're doing.

No video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game. 

Based on the evidence in the public record today, it seems quite likely that Belichick and the Patriots have been cheating for years.

All this talk of class and integrity is giving me a headache.

Oh yeah, one last thing, that whole 'fact' thing about the rule 105 or whatever, remember something I made said in my first post about this: IT WAS NOT CHEATING UNTIL ALL OF THIS HAPPENED.

It is cheating, there is a rule. They did not follow the rule. They got caught. Mr Bill is now being very arrogant because he got caught for the second time. First time was against Green Bay. I did respect New England before. I started losing respect when Mr Bill showed his classless ways against his former assistant Eric Mangini. Maybe other teams do this and they are wrong IMO. They are a great team, but the season is not over. They still have to go through the playoffs and I'am one not to count my chickens before they are hatched.  

Pats survive a close one last night. Maybe my Steelers could knock them off!!!

Also, more sad news  Sean Taylor of the Redskins died. 24 years old. What a shame

yeah...jeez, sounds like the reason he died was sorta a freak cause, getting shot in the leg but being hit in an artery, he lost a lot of blood, but he was trying to protect his girlfriend and one year old...

On a lighter note... glad my Steelers won. Saw the game, for a 3-0 game it had a lot crazy moments.
