    Re: Trivia

I haven't thought of Triumph in years - heard a block of it on the radio the other day and remembered it was one of the best live shows I ever saw (and I have seen several hundred to date) - but for the life of me, I can not remembered who else toured with them in 1983. I believe it was the Never Surrender tour - anyone know???? Desperate to find out, it's keeping me up at night!!

was it the T7 tour that Yngwie opened for them?

Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong

    BassPlayinBri:
Now, info on Rik's pre T prog trio is pretty scarce...  I could be in error that they ever played it live...  but to the best of my recollection that is what Rik said in an interview I read at one point. I do know the other two writers credited on the song are the bassist and drummer from Act III, that's why it is fair to say this tune was written by another band.
I know this is over a year old and may have already been discussed elsewhere but the Brockway on the credits is Chris Brockway who was in Pepper Tree before forming Act III. He is the same bassist to play on Rik's Absolutely album...

Chris Brockway, is on the left sitting down

    Here he's on the right...

The Young is Denton Young, which is one of these...

    Re: Trivia

    Here is some trivia:

On this site, just like most, the track listing for Just A Game is:

       1. "Moving On – 4:07
       2. "Lay It On The Line – 4:02
       3. "Young Enough To Cry – 6:01
       4. American Girls – 5:02
       5. Just A Game – 6:11
       6. Fantasy Serenade – 1:39
       7. Hold On – 6:04
       8. Suitcase Blues – 3:04

I own Just A Game on vinyl, bought it in 1979, and the track listing goes:

       1. Moving On – 4:07
       2. Lay it on the Line – 4:02
       3. Young Enough to Cry – 6:03
       4. American Girls – 5:01
       5. Suitcase Blues – 3:01
       6. Just a Game – 6:13
       7. Fantasy Serenade – 1:39
       8. Hold On – 6:04

I also own Just A Game on CD and the track listing is as the first one, so, I guess it needs to be asked to the band what caused this. The version I have on vinyl was purchased only weeks after I heard it was being released, so it stands to reason to believe that the band meant for the second track listing to be the album.

Maybe Kendall can shed some light on this...

    Same as what?

There is also a report that Lay It On The Line was track 4 and the 3 Gil sung songs were all on the first, though I don't believe that one.

    Re: Trivia

Same order as yours of course :). Theres 2 different versions of the vinyl. One has the game and the other doesnt. Are the songs in the same order on both versions?

    Re: Trivia

I brought the vinyl back around 1981 and it was the version with Suitcase last.

Did anyone else actually play the game on the inside cover? My friends and I did. :)

Don't look back in anger, don't look ahead in fear. You just keep takin' her as she comes, until she comes in clear. The love you send out, returns to you in time.
