    Stranger N A Strange Land:
Nope ... the squirrel is grey ... in fact, I haven't seen a red squirrel since I moved here from the Midwest. He got into the walls over the last cold spell. Doesn't seem to be chewing through anything ... haven't figured out how he got in yet ... but they're resourceful little critters ...

Bats can be quite noisy in walls too. After dark of course.

I was bringing in groceries a few weeks ago and left cat food on the deck while I brought in the remaining groceries. Not even 5 minutes and the little grey terrors bored a hole in the bag of cat food.

    Re: pets

Actually had a bat in the house last fall. It came swooping through an open slider from the deck. It was obviously going after mosquitos that were hovering around the deck lights. It was quite a pain in the a** to get out of the house. I finally batted (pun intended) it out of the air with a broom, rolled it up in some linens and threw it back outside ... hey, didn't want to kill it ... those bats keep the mosquito population in check.

I actually do have a picture of the black bear that visited last year. I'll see if I can find it.

The coyote is only hanging around because its probably after the wild turkeys (or the cats). Haven't lost a cat yet, though.

if it was a red squirrel, I'm pretty sure it would not only chew through anything, it would also be quite annoying those things are really loud when I'm up at the cabin in the woods and they're making all that noise up in the trees
Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong
