    Original "Magic Power" video

I've uploaded the original studio version video of Magic Power. This was shot on the Flying V spaceship set along with Allied Forces and Say Goodbye. The video and audio quality is bad because I literally had to videotape a VHS tape. That's the extent of my tech abilities right now.

This video is as cheesy as it gets. It's one of their biggest hits and one of their worst videos. It has that "cringe factor" I've mentioned before. Still love Triumph regardless!

What's with the girl dancing ???  Who came up with the concept for this clip ???  This was my first time watching this video, i had never seen that version....  Major cringe factor !!!!  But one of their best song.

    Haha, I love cheesy!

Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong

Triumph must have realized just how bad it was. Nobody watched more MTV than I did back in the day and I -never- saw this one! It was always the live clip from the Baltimore show, instead.

The production vids for Say Goodbye and Allied Forces were likewise dropped out of rotation pretty fast. In the early 80's, Triumph got a lot of play time on MTV, but it was, fortunately, almost all clips from the Baltimore show. Or the Lay It and Hold On vids from JaG, which were lip synchs, and quite good as those go.

Another indicator of lesson learned was that the vids from NS were all live simulations(lip synchs); we never saw anymore galactic flying V's, wind machines or dancing girls, thank god. The next production number was Spellbound and that was treated in a better way.

Don't look back in anger, don't look ahead in fear. You just keep takin' her as she comes, until she comes in clear. The love you send out, returns to you in time.

My favorite video effort by Triumph is "World of Fantasy." It's not gimmicky or cheesy. It's straight forward vintage Triumph shown in the recording studio and on stage. It's powerful and brings home the emotion that the song evokes. I guess it took several albums until Never Surrender for them to learn how to do an intelligent video sans the gimmicks and cheese.
