Radio Play - Triumph is back!

At first I thought my car stereo had switched to CD mode....

Wouldn't you know it, CHEZ106 (Ottawa, Ontario) played Blinding Light Show at 8:34pm tonight.  Based on what I've been hearing on CHEZ locally and on the Boneyard (XM41), you can definitely tell that Triumph is BACK! Big Smile

I'm really looking forward to 2009. As soon as those CD/DVD's are available (Sweden and Rocklahoma), I'll be inline at the music store. In his 7/11 interview, Rik mentions that they will use those sales numbers as a gauge to see if there is real interest for a large scale tour.  BTW, I really liked that interview.

BLS!! not exactly a radio friendly tune there...being almost 9 minutes long

8:34! haha, I like how that time stuck in your head, very cool to hear T getting a bit more exposure

The facebook group I made now has 323 members in it!  Keeps getting bigger, no one joined for the first few months I had it, then when the Emmett kids joined there was a spike...wonder why? haha.  It had a little bit of an increase as far as new members around the time after the Sweden show and thats continued through Rocklahoma.

I really hope they market the cd/dvds well so they get their name out there.  There are, I'm sure, still a lot of people out there that have forgotten about Triumph and think they're still split up.  They need to get the news out...I really think radio can help with this if they went on Rockline or something to promote them.  The guys could go on Bob and Tom too, I have the show recorded from when Rik went on the show a couple years back.  Sure was a different tune being sung by Rik toward Triumph back then.  He didnt really say a ton of positive toward the band, but nothing really negative either.  When he was asked about the old days he said something to the effect of "it was...okay" haha.  I do think I remember Rik said it was his idea to add Rick Santers in that interview though.

Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong

I'm also from Ottawa and i've also heard BLS a few times recently on CHEZ.  I also thought i was going crazy....  They must have ran out of Neil Young tunes.....  The first time i heard it, i was in my garage packing up my stuff for the ROCKLAHOMA trip.  What a good timing that was, hearing BLS on the radio while packing up to go see them a few days later !!!!

Just a few days ago I was listening to Bill O'Reilly (The Fox News political host of O'Reilly Factor)  on the radio, last Thursday night on way home from work.

Coming back from a commercial they played the intro to Fight The Good Fight.

Sometimes Bill makes a comment on the songs but not this time.

I thought it was cool hearing Triumph on O'Reilly though.

Re: Radio Play - Triumph is back!

We're probably considered spoiled down here in San Antonio then. Triumph has been on regular rotation here since they first came out waaaaaay back when Joe Anthony, "The Godfather", introduced them on 99.5 KISS. Different radio station, same great songs. Now KZEP 104.5, on any given day, plays Fight The Good Fight, Magic Power, Blinding Light Show,Lay It On the Line,etc.etc. For a while they were playing Airtime's The River Runs Deep, but I haven't heard that one in a few months. But thankfully they still keep rolling all the old Triumph stuff because they know we want to hear it. Call your local rock, or classic rock I guess, stations and bombard them with requests.

Yeah, the footage is funny enough without that site adding the producer in.  I laughed so hard the first time I saw it...and the 2nd...and 3rd...

I've been hearing T a little more often on the radio here.  Lay it and Fight get played quite a bit.
