Triumph has helped change my life!
Thanks for all the childhood memories and the positive influence you have in the world! I have had many trials in my life and have had to "Fight the Good Fight" through all of it. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ, my beautiful wife, family, and for music (especially the music of Triumph) to get though these trials. Your positive lyrics and your uplifting music have inspired me.
I was only about five or six years old when I first got into Triumph! I heard "Hold On" and "Lay it on the Line". Years later I am even more of a fan after remembering the best music of my childhood. I asked my wife for Triumph albums for my birthday. This Greatest Hits: Remixed box set is definitely a treasure. I am glad for the great example you guys are being good family men and being the good guys of heavy metal. Your example is rare and something every rock band should have but does not.
Rik Emmett is the most incredible combination of being a great vocalist while playing the guitar at the same time that I have ever seen. Mike Levine is an incredible bass player, performer, and hilarious. Gil Moore is one of the most underrated drummers I have ever heard. You guys rock and are the greatest! God bless you and your families!

Triumph Greatest Hits Remix
Hello to Rik Gil and Mike
Just a short note to say "way to go" on a great CD/DVD combo Triumph's Greatest Hits: Remixed. I got mine yesterday and I've listened and watched both disks. The sound is fantastic and some great stuff on the DVD. How about getting together and write a new album. I'd being buying it the day it comes out. Mike I listened to you on your radio interview on the net and it was a very interesting time. Triumph must do some more concerts...............Toronto must be on the list for sure and since I live in Ajax now how about Oshawa again just like in the early 80's.
Just one thing I wish you had added my favorite Triumph song on it "What's Another Day of Rock and Roll" but I know you only had so much room.
I do hope that the rock and roll machine does decide to do a tour it would be the biggest news in the music world for Canada and the world. If you do go on tour please open the show with my favorite "What's Another Day of Rock and Roll"
Thanks again for one great package
Many hours will be spent listening and watching the only "rock and roll machine................Triumph rocks forever.......................

Blew Me Away!
Hi,Triumph fans! I'm Steve & I have been a Triumph fan for about 7 or 8 years. The first 2 Triumph albums I ever bought were the Classics album on cassette and Thunder Seven on CD. When I first heard the Classics album, it blew me away! I listened to it from start to finish and I was not disappointed. Thunder Seven was and still is one of their best albums ever.
I recently heard that Rik, Gil and Mike were reuniting and, with being a Triumph fan, I was totally psyched. A lot of people compare Triumph to Rush but in my honest opinion, Triumph's music is by far a hell of a lot better than Rush's music. It would be totally awesome to see Triumph come to the US and perform.
In closing, I just wanted to leave this message for the guys: Rik, Gil and Mike, It is great to see you guys back together. Thanks for touching my life with your music. I hope you will come to the US soon and I am honored to be one of your many fans. Keep up the awesome work and God bless all of you. Long live rock n' roll!!!

Raised on Triumph
Sept. 21. 2007 I am the father of two daughters, ages 12 & 4. Both were introduced to Triumph when only a few months old. I cannot describe how awesome it is to hear the girls belting out a duet of "Magic Power","Fight The Good Fight", "Ordinary Man", or "Say Goodbye" when we are driving down the road. I have since had to purchase each girl their own disc so that I can keep my own. Thanks for the magical power of your music.

BTO Led Me To Triumph
Well, it wasn't called that when I first heard it. It was back in the 70s and I was in my parent's basement going through my older's bro's albums which he would've been pissed off if he caught me.
I came across this album cover that had the 3 of them on the front in the middle of a flame if I remember correctly (My memory fails me abit here). This was the original Canadian release. I had no idea who they were but figured what the hell and put the album on. I was hooked the moment I heard it. This was the album that made me a life long Triumph fan. What's another day of rock 'n roll and 24 hrs a day were my favs. This will always be my favorite Triumph album even though many more great ones were to follow.
I was actually looking for my bro's BTO albums but this peaked my interest. I confiscated that first triumph album from my bro's collection (which caused some tension to put it mildly) and had it for years. Sadly, somewhere along the way through several moves it got lost. But it lives on in my memories...well what I can remember. lol

I Partied With Triumph
Hello Triumph
fans!
My name is
George, and I was one of the lucky people to meet and greet with Triumph at the
Hardrock party on March. The night
turned out to be a great blast from the past and was truly a wonderful
experience. It was pretty cool walking
into the upstairs party room of the Hardrock Café, with Triumph music cranked
up and multiple widescreen TV’s playing Triumph videos! I had not seen the US festival
performance in at least 15 years!
Classic rock at its best!
The wife and
I had a few drinks, wandered about the room looking at all the cool guitars
displayed all over the walls as we waited in anticipation for the arrival of
Gil, Rik and Mike. What really got me excited
was seeing a stage set up with a couple amps and a white Flying V guitar! Was Triumph going to perform a song or two
for the party? That would be awesome!
Finally,
while standing in front of the stage, the crowd from behind starts stirring as
the band makes its arrival! The boys
walk right by me but my damn crappy camera is too slow to react. Oh well, I got a few shots of them on stage,
as they thanked the fans for the support and displayed the plaque for there
induction into the Hall of Fame!
Throughout
the rest of the evening the band mingled with the crowd. Pretty cool
stuff. I’m kind of a shy guy so I just
hung out and mingled with other fans. Two of the more interesting fellows from
the crowd turned out to be students at Metalworks Studios! What a great program they have going on over
there.
I’ll have to be
honest and say that I was a little bummed that Rik could not attend that
evening. I was really hoping to get a
picture taken with him and taunt Drew with it!
Oh well, I did ask Mike for a picture but some cute brunette spoiled
that opportunity.
All and all,
the evening was a ton of fun. Being
exposed to Triumph music and videos for
51/2 hours that night made me realize one thing, we could really do with a Triumph
reunion!!
Oh yeah, and
that stage setup with the Flying V, well it turned out, that was just house
equipment lying around.
Thanks TriumphMusic.com for the great opportunity!

Yesterday and Today
I have been a huge Triumph fan since the early 80's and have tried to keep up with news of the band and Rik as much as possible. In the 80's, I disliked the Rush comparisons because, in my opinion, Triumph was much better than Rush, just not enough commercial publicity and airplay. Since the band broke up, I have continually hoped a reconciliation would occur and the band would reunite. From reading as many articles as I can, I understand some of the issues between Rik and the guys and how bad feelings could exist.
Even though there has not been any new "real" Triumph music for many years, the old stuff still rocks my world. I was excited to see that Rik and the guys have recently agreed to a joint marketing effort for the next two years that will kick of with the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame induction in March. While they will not play together as a band, maybe this can be the beginning of a "warming" between the three. I have read many articles about Rik and his solo career and he seems very comfortable and at peace with the road he has taken. Seeing him solo in an acoustic concert, even in a small venue, is such a treat. I highly recommend it to any Triumph fans. I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to see him back up on the grand stage where he and Triumph belong. With the success of so many other 80's bands reuniting, I am one fan that still hopes it can happen for Triumph. Until then, I will have to wait and hope that Rik will play a concert near my home town.

The Music My Dad Grew Up With.
I'm only 19 years old, but I didn't start really listening to music until I was
about 14. After years of hearing my dad blasting classic rock albums including
Rock & Roll Machine every day as I was told, I finally started listening to
the music he grew up with.
My dad has every one of your albums on vinyl and some
on cd which I listen to constantly since Triumph is the best band ever. The last
Triumph album I bought was In The Beginning and it blew me away. Great guitar
work, singing, drumming, bass, everything. I just wish I got to see you guys
before Rik left.
I'm still hoping you guys get back together and if you did I
would be overwhelmed and definitaly be at at least one of ur shows. Thanx for
the awesome music and Follow Your Heart, get back together cuz Whats Another Day
Of Rock N Roll!!!

I Love Triumph More Than My Boyfriend
I went to the Triumph concert in Baltimore MD right after they released The
Sport of Kings album. We camped out for 12 hours and got 8th row center. It is
still one of the best concerts I have seen. My then boyfriend got mad after the
show because he said I yelled "I Love You" more to Rik then I ever told him.
Even though I was more of a Gil Moore girl. Thirty years later and I still have
my concert book from that show!

What Triumph Meant to Me
I first became a fan in 1981, when Allied Forces came out and MP and FtGF were
getting a lot of airtime. I've heard Triumph themselves remark that they always
had a strong following out here in the San Jose area of California. And, it was
true!
A local radio station ran a contest for the most popular band of the day
(1986, I think) and Triumph placed a respectable 4th. Some say they never got
the recognition they deserved, but it seemed to me Triumph was very well known
and liked right up to the split.
Thunder 7 will always stand as my personal
favorite. I love all the prog rock overtones, plus what Rik and Gil achieved in
their collaborating, with Mike working his usual production magic. It was sad
that the momentum of this great record was broken on the next one, (Sport of
Kings) when obviously the guys came under pressure by their record company to
have more "hits." Unfortunate, because the guys already had a rabid, loyal
following and we weren't looking for "hits." We just wanted Triumph to keep
doing what they excelled at! AF, NS and JaG (lol, it's the age of acronyms, fer
sure! ;))stand as my other three favorite records, and Surveillance has its
moments too, (why oh why did they not play Long Time Gone on that tour?? Great
song!!) though it slips back toward the Sport o' Kings stuff on a number of
songs.
In concert, Triumph was an unparalleled live act. Just incredible. As a
bass player myself, I used to envy Levine his gig in the band -so- much! :D (I
also used to envy that beautiful white jazz bass!) No one could touch them as a
live show in their hey day. The split was unfortunate.... but I guess
inevitable, as Rik wanted to move on from doing rock band sorts of things. I
just wish he could have returned every few years for a Triumph record and tour.
They could have kept going, just cut down the pace. That often results in better
album, anyway. As much as Rik is massively talented, Triumph was one of those
bands that had a quirky, rare, unique chemistry and its sad that it had to end
as prematurely and completely as it did. But I'm sure glad they were around as
long as they were, and I have so many memories from my youth that connect with
Triumph music. I'll share one of the most amusing: I went to see Pink Floyd's
movie The Wall when it came out. Good... but depressing!! I went home and put on
Allied Forces to bring my mood back up. They guys' music was always good for
that. Best wishes to the members of Triumph and their loved ones,
Brian S.

I still remember listening
Sept 4, 2006
I recently discovered my "old" Triumph CD's & "Albums", yes..."Albums"! Being 40 years young... I was looking through my music catalog & saw Triumph. Wow! It has been a long time since I have listened to this! I don't have all of the music, but what I have still rocks. Besides what little, if anything on the radio from Triumph, I haven't listened to them in about 8 to 10 years! It was like having a nice cold Molson after mowing the lawn! I listened to Allied Forces, Never Surrender,(& I can't find my "Thunder Seven" Album.) I think somebody stole it or borrowed it without telling me. (Time to find out where it is!!!). I read a review where a fan said that his favorite albums were Allied Forces, Never Surrender, & Thunder Seven. I have to agree. I still remember listening to those albums in the early 80's in my best friend's basement & "Air Jammin'" to those albums. Was that really 20 years ago? It seems like yeaterday. I know that Rush is Canada's "Embassadors of Music", (I also am a huge Rush fan!) but I feel that Triumph never got the recognition they deserved! I work w/ alot of 18-25 year olds who have no idea who Triumph is! (Sad)!! In justice to Triumph, I play them at work and the kids say: "What are you listening to?" I tell them & I get them hooked! In closing I would like to say that I know that a reunion is out of the question....but damn, what a fantastic band! They'll never be out of my CD rotation again! Thanks D.R.

Our Wedding song was Little Boy Blues
Sept 3, 2006
Just thought you should know, I am coming up on my 18th Wedding Anniversery and our Wedding song was Little Boy Blues. My wife and I absolutly love Triumph and it was only fitting to something of theirs to have our first dance with. The melodic tones of LBB i hauntingly beautiful, just like my blushing bride. Triumph rules as Canada's No. 1 export. Thanks guys.

Never Surrender had edge
This was my first exposure to Triumph and therfore my favorite. I really like the edge the album had even though they were moving towards a more pollished sound. After this album I was hooked and bought all of the previous works and then all the (at the time) new albums. Boy sure wish these guys could get past their differences and get back together.

I loved the swagger
June 8, 2006
The video for "Lay It On The Line" was my first exposure to Triumph. I loved the swagger in the lyrics and the heavy guitars. However, what really caught my attention was the look in the eyes of my best friend's older sister as she watched Rick work his magic. The fact of the matter is that this album showcases the wide ranging talents of the entire band. It should have launched them into the rock and roll stratosphere and put them on a commercial par that "that other Canadian power trio". It also should have inspired a lot more respect and "love" from their peers.

Just A Game is a classic rock album
May 14, 2006
I saw Triumph in concert in 1979 supporting the Just A Game album. The show started with "American Girls" and kicked ass from the get go! They even had AC/DC as their opening act, supporting thier album "You Want Blood ? You Got It!" Kick ass concert "Just A Game" is as classic a rock album , right up there with the likes of "Back In Black" or April Wine`s "Nature Of The Beast"

I want to thank Truimph
I just wanted to tell you that the song Take A Stand has inspired me to make changes in my life, and move me and my two boys from NM to AZ.
Without going into the depth of our lives and the trauma that we have suffered, I want to thank Truimph for that song, and please know, that you did reach us, and we love you for it.
I DID find the answers deep inside, and they HAVE made me stronger! Have a great day, and thanks for puting out many great years of music that I am now passing on to my two boys, ages 5 and 9.

They passed mom’s test
Mar. 17, 2006
I was raised in a very strict Baptist atmosphere in the 70's, where rock’n’roll banned was in our house. One day I came home with the new Rock and Roll Machine album and my dad threw a fit. He finally agreed that if Mom approved of the lyrics I could keep it. As it turned out, Triumph was the only rock and roll band that I could listen to in the house!!!!
Thank you guys, for making uplifting music that promoted ones integrity and self worth to a once confused teen who is now 40.

A letter from an international fan
Feb. 2, 2006
I’m a big fan from sweden. I have been listening to ya guys for like over 8 years and you have influenced me a lot to my guitar playing (I'm a guitarist in a rock n roll band). The album Rock n Roll Machine ´77 is an amazing record one of the best album of all time in music history!! The songs “Takes Time”, “Little Texas Shaker”, “Rocky Mountain Way” all have some of the best guitar riffs I ever heard in my life.

Triumph show literally knocked the sight out of him
Dec. 14, 2005
I first saw Triumph December 1, 1978 in Beaumont Texas, and this remains the best concert I've ever seen. In fact, one pyro blast knocked out one of my contacts, I was on the 2nd row. I remember seeing video of Triumph that was an ad for the show. I saw several other tours, including Houston and Beaumont in 1980, and wanted live shows that are back in 78-80. I was fortunate enough to take pictures and blew some of them up 20" x 30", so I do have more than just memories. Thank you for your time and thank you for being, in my opinion, the best band.

The meaning of Triumph
Oct. 10, 2005
I am 42 years old and rocked on to Triumph as a teenager in OKC. For some reason I never realized the message you were trying to put out and I think finally I have realized it. It is the same as I have tried to live all my life. That may sound corny but that is how I feel. Before it was just good rock now it touches me.
God Bless guys!

Saw Triumph's first show
Oct. 7, 2005
I was a student of Simcoe High School in 1976 and attended the "dance" featuring Triumph. I'll never forget when they took the stage and the first chords came from Rik's guitar. The light show was incredible, blinding actually, and I was in awe. I can't believe we paid only $750 dollars for this band. When the first album was released, I bought both the LP and the 8-track so I could play it in the car. I still have the LP with the girl, I don't recall her name, lounging on the sofa in the recording studio on the back cover. Seeing this site brought back a lot of good memories for me.
Thanks guys.

Today's teens need a Triumph

Thanks for being a great influence
Sept. 27, 2005
I haven’t heard Triumph for at least 15 yrs! You guys are the coolest most talented band I’ve ever heard (and I like metal). I’ve played guitar (25 yrs Charvel Seymore Duncan pickups) but I was raised as a Christian and you totally made me believe even more that you could be even a better musician without the bullshit satanic crap just by being a positive influence on the world! I’m not saying you guys are striper but I gotta say the positive words in your songs influenced me in a way I can’t explain. Thanks for being real. You shred on guitar by the way.....

p.s. If you ever play again I’d love to be there...

An inspiration to a fellow musician
Aug. 16, 2005
Found your site online and have spent most of the morning checking it out. I was a HUGE Triumph fan as a teenager and saw many of your shows including the US Festival. I was just listening to No Surrender. You were a big influence on me personally and made such an impacted on me that I have become a musician myself. Although the progression of Heavy Metal has gone far beyond driven and the music we lay down can't even be compared, I just wanted you to know that Triumph will always hold a place in the TRUE "Heavy Metal" arena as far as I am concerned. We will be on tour starting next week. If you'd like more info on us you can find it at www.cesssationoflife.com Sure would like to see you guy's play live some day..

Believes Triumph is the best band out there
July 29, 2005
I’m so glad that Triumph is coming out with new DVD's and CD's. A day doesn’t go by without me thinking about the band. The first I heard of Triumph, was when they were on "Live at the Forum" on TV. I think it was back in 1978 or 1979. I could not believe me eyes and ears. Who were these guys? The flames and strobes by Gil's massive drum kit. The music just flowed throughout the concert, like a well oiled "rock and roll machine".
I immediately called my buddy Jay to say "Did you see this band Triumph on the Canadian station?" Wow! We’ve been forever true blue fans on Triumph ever since. I have seen them twelve times and was very upset when Rik left. I have seen Rik many times on his solo career. I've met you or talked with you all and wish I could see you all together again.
I have much more to say later but I would like to see a live DVD on an indoor Thunder Seven or Never Surrender tour. Thanks for the great memories.

Two of the best songs of all time...
July 22, 2005
First off I would like to say that Triumph is the greatest rock band of all time. I am a hardcore classic/hard rock fan so that's saying something. No other band I know has the talent and musicianship of Triumph. I own four Triumph albums and love every track on each one. "Lay It On The Line" and "Fight The Good Fight" are the two best songs ever recorded.
Do myself and many other Triumph fans a favor and pleeeease go back on tour. I am too young to have had the privilege of watching Triumph live but everything I read about Triumph’s live performances are awesome.
Rock on,

Drove 1500 miles to see Triumph
July 18, 2005
Triumph has been a big part of my life. I have seen them 10 times from 1982 to 1993. The last time I saw them in El Paso TX (‘93), my wife and I drove 1500 miles to see them and there has been a empty space in our lives since. Triumph music and the Triumph indoor show is unbelievable and maybe someday they can put it together one more time. I know there are many fans waiting, and I know someday it will happen. Next Year will be 30 years since their first release in Canada. I think a new album and tour would be great.

Thank you for the music
June 28, 2005
Triumph (with opening act Helix) was the first concert I ever went to. It was April 1985, and I was twelve years old. I went to the show more or less "blind" having heard only a few tracks off Thunder Seven a couple of hours before the show. I was blown away that night and have been a big fan of Triumph ever since.
I would be hard pressed to select a favourite song or album, because I listened to them all more or less equally, but I love "Nature's Child" as an all-out rocker and "Ordinary Man" for Rik's vocal that's so perfect for the song it practically reduces me to tears to hear it. Triumph's songwriting was always strong, and often made you think.
I was lucky enough to see the band a second time, again in Ottawa for the Sport of Kings Tour, and I was eagerly anticipating a return engagement in support of Surveillance when Rik parted ways with the band. I like his solo stuff too, but it's a completely different dynamic. I was very grateful for the recent DVD releases, and snapped them up when they came out. It brought back a lot of memories.
Anyway, Triumph's music meant a lot to me in my teenage years, and the music means as much to me today at 32. I know it's been a long time since Rik left the band, and everyone is doing different things, but I look at how Roger Waters and Pink Floyd are reconciling for Live 8 and it makes me think that not all artistic differences are completely irreconcilable. If Pink Floyd can reunite for a good cause, I hold out hope that the classic Triumph line-up might one day do the same... As the song says, "if only wishes would come true." Thanks for the music!

All the king's horses
June 20, 2005
I wonder if all the king's horses and all the king's men could ever bring the band back together again? I am tired of just hearing one triumph song on the radio, even if it is "Magic Power" and I am sure I am not the only one who would like to hear new songs and purchase a new studio album and of course something I've wanted to experience again for a long time, and that is to see Triumph Live in concert at least once more. I don't know what pulled you all apart and I don't know what could bring you back together but I for one would be ecstatic and thankful to you all.
