Hazey, this is not a gay community!!!! You must type WWW.BONJOVI.COM OR WWW.IAMGAYANDPROUDOFIT.COM in order to get those three songs....

Can't wait to buy the live dvd this year and hopefully see Triumph in concert in Montreal!!!! By the way, everybody seems to like the same top 20 songs in the survey!!!!

I have to say Sylvain that your response to Hazey cracked me up. Thanks for the laugh. I needed it. Too funny.

I think the vote is cool but wonder how much of an influence it would have on the boys final decision on what they'll play. Whatever they play is going to be good so in the end it doesn't matter....just the fact that they are playing together again is awesome in itself. Hopefully they do a video of the concert as I can't afford to go. I'll definitely buy that. Hopefully I get to see them in Regina here if they decide  on a tour. It's been a long time since I've seen them play.

First of all, Sylvain, love your response to Hazey. What is he thinking? For sure he*s on the wrong website!!!

It seems from the vote, everyone wants to hear such great hits as *Lay it on the line*, *Rocky mountain way*, *Fight the good fight* and so on. But I do agree with Dan that whatever they will play will be awsome as it is like a dream that Triumph are finally back together and everyone loves that.

Have fun in Sweden guys and I do hope there is a video of this concert for some of us that can*t make it there. I hope you also tour Canada when you return and play  Ottawa or Montreal. Actually no matter where you will play in this area I will be there.

Good luck Gil, Rik and Mike
Your #1 fan forever, since 1976-77 and proud of it!!!!!!!!!

The vote is a good idea but, as long as they play together and their friendship with each other is strong it will be the greatest show on earth no matter what the play list is!
   To Rik, Mike, and Gil.
Have fun in Sweden, Enjoy the trip, Enjoy each others friendship, and kick some ass out there, and have fun doing it!
You guys ARE a rock & roll machine. You have the magic power so go out there and lite the fuse. NEVER SURRENDER!!!!!!!!

Agree with you all - doesn't matter what they play, just as long as they're back together again and playing!  Still, personally, I would love to hear a lot of the Rik hits (Magic Power, Hold On, Fight The Good Fight, Say Good-bye, Lay It On The Line, Somebody's Out There, etc...) with some of the Gil rockers (Tears in the Rain, Follow Your Heart, Spellbound).  Yeah, and maybe a 5 minute version of Midsummer's Daydream.  PLEASE COME TO NEW YORK!!!!!

Jerry, if more people supported the post Rik Emmet Triumph then you all wouldn't be so hungry for the reunion. They probabaly would have kept on going and reinvented themselves." You are living in yhe past man"
March 27, 2008 12:38 PM

jerry said:

mr.phil x i can't believe you just said that.reinvent themselves with who.it's already proven that triumph cannot do anything with someone else in the band.it,s not living in the past man it's called stating the obvious.triumph was is and will continue to be the best damn canadian band that ever was.it was there decision to reunite were just along for the ride.if those songs that you mentioned are so great than tell me how come it never went nowhere.like i said triumph is NOTHING without rik emmett.he can kick anybody's ass hands down its just unfortunate that sometimes he doesn't get enough recognition.i know that every triumph fan will agree with me.in your face pal.

mr phil x when rik emmett left the band the person who was going to replace him had to be able to fill some big shoes. Its obvious that you cuold not fill them.I know that it is no mistake or coinsidence that rik emmett's solo career took off in plenty of success and the EDGE OF EXCES cd didn't (in all due respect it is a good hard rock kicking cd)but it's not triumph.Nothin more to sayIn all do respect to mike and gil triumph is nothin without rik.

Phil X said:

Jerry, Get it straight. triumph is Gil and Mike. All three partiies agree on that. Rik is only a hired hand at this point, unfortunately. To say Rik solo albums were a success is overstating the facts. Absolutely, gold status....the rest, you know. Remember, how many metal bands went anywhere in the '90's. "in your face" what ate you 10 yrs old

jerry said:

mr phil x being a hired hand both you and rick santers should know what thats all about eh.to use the fact that no metal band went anywhere in the 90's as a reason to justify that triumph didn't go anywhere after rik emmett left is nothing nore than a stupid lame ass excuse.triumph didn't go anywhere because  a member of the original line up left and they tried to replace with someone else namely you and failed big time just *** all bands do when that happens.Oh and by the way mr phil x i am fully aware of what i am talking about and it's nothing but a joke for you  to sit here and say that i am 10 years old.i also see that you have go and reccrute another wanna be by the name of rick santers.Im sorry i didn't get that in who's face.

I'm thinking that this bickering back and forth is pointless. Let's just be glad and enjoy the fact that after so many years the 3 members of the original and most well-known version of Triumph is getting back together. I'd be willing to bet that most if not all of us thought that it would never happen.

Rock on, Rik, Mike and Gil.

I hope they play multiple tunes from "The Sport of Kings" and "Surveillance" albums.  If they play as a three-piece band (which hopefully they will), I would like to see the rhythm guitar dubbed in during the guitar solo's.  The songs would sound so much fuller and complete.

If they are looking for other festival sites to play this summer, look at Summerfest in Milwaukee and the Cadott, Wisconsin Rock Fest.

mr phil x your friend(ya right) jerry again, whats the matter can't handle the truth. One more parting shot in my defence. Before you go taking a shot at somebody elses career namely rik emmett's solo career.Remember this the next time you go home and look in the mirror. You say that his solo career was not that successful well let me ask you one last thing. What happened when rik left and you toured with them and played on the excess cd.Oh thats right NOTHING.Have a nice life you moron.

Oh wow, I am so surprised, guess it takes a little while to realize the SWEDEN news. I fell in love with Riks Voice in 1993 and never had a chance to hear it LIVE. I couldn't afford to travel to Canada and I seemed ABSOLUTELY absurd to wait for a concert in Europe. Now I find myself sitting here IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and thinking about how to get there from Berlin. That's really crazy.... SOMEBODY'S OUT THERE knowing how many songs they'll play????? They are the second band on sunday, and there a many other bands on the stage the same day.... But if I wouldn't go there, ONLY HEAVEN KNOWS if there'd be another chance....

IF ONLY we'd all be positive and feel the MAGIC POWER of the music, that's what the singer and musicians we are talking about always wanted! So please HOLD ON.
All the best to the fans all over the www from the MIDDLE GROUND in Berlin!

Holy hijacking...somehow I doubt Phil and Rick are the real deals, wouldnt they have anything better to do?

Anyways, keep the set rockin, stay away from those weaker soft tunes.  I'd say pretty much anything up to Thunder Seven is great.  "I Live For The Weekend" would be a killer choice.

Enough with Phil X and Jerry arguing. Edge of Excess was a commendable effort, but when a third of the band is gone, it's hard to keep the magic power going...

Now, with the list:

Magic Power
Fight the Good Fight
Follow Your Heart
Hard Road
Never Say Never
Lay it on the Line
Tears in the Rain
Somebody's Out There
Hold On
A World of Fantasy
Don't Love Anybody Else But Me
Carry on the Flame
Hot Time in This City Tonight

And why not include efforts by Triumph and Rik, post-dissolution:

Somewhere Tonight
Big Lie

Wow! This is great that so many people in North America have posted messages concerning the show in Sweden. I'm sure the guys will have fun deciding which ones to use. It's great the buzz about Triumph is lifting off the ground again with all the Allied Forces out there.
How about these, in my humble opinion:
    1. Intro only to Fight the Good Fight
    2. I Live for the Weekend
    3. Tear the Roof Off
    4. Ridin' High Again
    5. Lay It On the Line
    6. Never Surrender
    7. When the Lights Go Down
    8. Accoustical Fantasy Serenade w/ Rik only
    9. Accoustical begginning to "I Can Survive" w/ Rik & Gil followed
by full band finishing "I Can Survive" in electric
  10.  Follow Your Heart (w/ drum solo)
  11.  Rock & Roll Machine (w/ guitar solo)
  12.  Fight the Good Fight
Encore:
  13. Majic Power
  14. Hot Time (In This City Tonight)
The other possible songs I thought of but are not sure of, cause it would make a very long set would be:
       Allied Forces
       Never Say Never
       Tears In the Rain
       Spellbound
Troublemaker- (this one is a real barn-stormer)

Sincerely, Jon in Ocala, Florida

Oops! I did it again. After re-reading some of the posted messages here at this site, is it true Triumph is the second band to play on Sunday? What that means is that they might be playing for only 40 minutes to 1 hour? Sort of a warm-up band?
If thats true, we all may need to reduce our song lists to maybe 7 - 10 songs?
Gosh, which ones to choose? If you were a Swedish rock fan who has been rocking out & headbanging to the likes of Hammerfall, Krokrus, Saxon, Maiden, etc. then which Triumph songs to choose?
Here it goes, in my humble opinion:
    1. Intro only to Fight the Good Fight
    2. I Live for the Weekend
    3. Ridin' High Again
    4. Lay It On the Line
    5. Never say Never
    6. Follow Your Heart (short drum solo)
    7. Rock & Roll Machine (short guitar solo)
    8. Fight the Good Fight
Encore:
    9. Majic Power
  10. Allied Forces

Does it seem that at least one song is represented from almost every album?
Sincerely, Jon in Ocala, Florida
