Gil & Rik Back in the Studio

Six months ago if you would have asked Gil, Mike or Rik about the likelihood of working together again, much less being on speaking terms, the answers to those questions would have been less than positive. Thanks to their recent induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame however all of that seems to be changing.

In the past months alone, they have hung out like old friends, done interviews/press and even come together under the name of Triumph to accept an award for the legacy they have created in the Canadian Music Industry. Now another chapter in the Triumph saga sees Gil Moore and Rik Emmett back in the studio once again.

According to an interview with Rik over at Glam-Metal his latest project with Airtime will receive the Metalworks golden touch. Gil has kindly extended an invitation for the Airtime project to be mastered in his award winning facilities and Rik has accepted. When speaking about the situation Rik was quoted as saying “Something quite fitting about having the beginning of something new complete its journey towards the public by going back to the roots of what Gil, Mike and I started such a long time ago.

Wow. Phenomenal news. What will they sound like t-w-e-n-t-y years later?!? This sould be interesting. Hopefully, they'll stay true to heart and just put ou a great rock album similiar to Thunder Seven or just whatever comes to mind and not bow out to music trends. Boys, give us what is ROCK AND ROLL and not some week 'filler' fluff that everybody will be disappointed with, i.e. Aerosmith, Boston, Bad Company, ect.

Its great news just to know that the boys are talking again. Triumph has been such an important part of Canadian rock and the lives of North American rock fans. Could we be feeling the G.B. factor once again. (Goose Bump factor). I sure hope so.

This is great news. Its about time they started working together let alone speaking to one another. Hopefully this will lead to an onstage reunion. Just one more tour and final album is all we need for it to be the ultimate dream come true for the band ever!!! I am so proud to be from the same area as these legends.

Some people didn't really understand the news. They are not working on a new TRIUMPH album. Gil will be working on the new Rik solo project. I really hope that this collaboration will lead to a new TRIUMPH reunion, tour and album. Now we can dream.

This interview mentions a concert in Buffalo, NY. Is this an official Triumph show with the guys or Rik solo show? Thanks in advance for anyone with info.

Triumph was the first concert I ever went to (at the Guelph Arena, lol)!

Even though the accoustics were HORRIBLE, Rik's and Gil's vocals just blew me away!  I was in the front row against the stage, and I don't think I've ever had as good of a concert experience since.

I've been to many, MANY, other concerts since then, and VERY FEW have compared to Triumph's amazing live show.

Very few bands can sing as well LIVE as they can in the studio with all the professional mixing and gadgets.  Triumph is one of those bands that can!

IF Triumph ever gets back together for another album and tour, I'll be there!

I have  been a loyal  'T' fan since their incepetion, watching them at high schools and the local TO scene , I enjoyed the many New Years parties at the Maple Leaf Gardens, and I had the pleasure to enjoy Rik Emmett at The Hugh's room in a acoustical format which left me as a guitarist bewildered as how true a guitarist he is. One thing I'd like to point  out is that when Triumph released Rockin Roll Machine in 77 which im sure was before Van halen 1, why was it that Eddie got all the accolades for Eruption, when Rik blew that solo out of the water with his solo on Rockin Roll Machine...what gives!!!
If someone can answer that question for me, than i will tell if Elvis is dead or alive.
Hope you gentes tour soon cause the Music scene today needs a triumphant wake up call.

I have seen every tour since "Allied Forces". My wife never got the chance to see this band before we meet. We have seen "Pink Floyd", "Rush" and some other greats. I have told her about the awsome show that "Triumph" puts on and would love to see a reunion tour. BRING OUT THE LASERS AND LET THE ROCK & ROLL MACHINE RISE UP AGAIN

there isnt a day that goes by,when "fight the good fight" and "never surrender", have inspired me through life, from raising kids, or when life gets hard. My kids ages 22-18-15, sure they have their favorite choices of music, hip-hop, rap, but are amazed when they hear triumph, So Rik, Gil and Mike, thank you..... youve done more than provide me with more than great music, you have taught me that, that a little more money can't buy your soul some rest, and follow what your heart tells you, good to hear your hanging out, com'on guys one more for old time sake.
